I worked with Ahmed Mansour during my time at Carlisle Collection/Per Se/Etcetera and E3 as a Sweater Technical Designer. Ahmed was our vendor's Stoll Programmer. As our company was medium sized, we couldn't afford a dedicated textiles/stitch/yarn manager in house at our company, therefore we relied heavily on Ahmed's expertise in helping us make the best sweaters for our customers. I remember one time when our designer saw a complicated stitch that was handknit and myself and the Sweater Senior Tech Designer (who owns multiple Stoll machines herself), tried to figure out how to knit it by machine and couldn't do it; I handknit the swatch, sent it to Ahmed and the very day after he received it made the stitch by machine and we were able to produce the garment, we were very impressed. When we had difficult yarns (lurex/metallics which is always prone to breakage, linen which always torques), Ahmed ensured trial swatches were made and all concerns were addressed at the proto stage so that there were no problems in production. If we had any technical issues, we could always ask him questions and he would offer solutions that he explained clearly and give us options to choose from. He also kept us up to date on new Stoll stitches and shared his stitch library with us. Our company got great results from Ahmed's work, and I highly endorse him. Ahmed has a very strong knowledge of knitwear stitch development and garment creation. I would ask him to develop a lot of very intricate and challenging stitches from conceptual images. He was always able to figure out how to create them along with proposing several different ideas. What I can also really appreciate about Ahmed from a designer point of view, is that he has a really high taste level. He made sure that my garments were finished in a way that represented the look and feel of a luxury collection. He is extremely passionate about knitwear and this showed through in all of the work that he did for me.
