Whilst working at Matalan, I provided high quality customer service to all customers. I was fully till trained allowing me to assist product transactions including returns and click and collect. I learned the intricacies of the roles and made sure I gained full knowledge of each company's stock to ensure all customers queries were handled. I was able to prepare merchandise for display clean and restock the store, while cultivating customer service and salesmanship skills.
For a period of time I worked as a brand ambassador for Ballers Direct . We worked with many organisations such as Great Ormond Street Hospital and Hello Fresh. This allowed me to utilise my interpersonal skills to work with customers as well as other team member. I was able to positively represent the brands in order to attract customers and educated them with benefits offered by the service or product. I worked closely with the sales and marketing team to implement marketing strategies and campaigns. This boosted my confidence and allowed me to further improve my communication and presentation skills.
I previously worked as a babysitter, caring for children between the ages of 9 months to 9 years. I prepared meals and ensured children were fed, bathed and put to bed. Enforced house rules set by the parents, maintained safety for the kids, entertained the children through telling stories and fun-filled activities, taught social values and handled emergency situations responsibly. This job brought me personal growth and allowed me to further develop and learn new skills. I was able to communicate effectively with children allowing me to build a positive connection with both the family and children.
My first work experience was in year 10 where I went to work at North Beckton Primary School. I worked with kids in year 1 and year 5 between the ages of 5-10. I assisted the kids with their phonics, mathematics and english. This allowed me to gain experience working with kids as well as other colleagues. By doing so I was able to improve on my skills of professional communication in the workspace. The period of work also tested my responsibility as I was trusted to look after kids during lessons and at their break time. This is because I am very responsible and able to appropriately complete any tasks. This experience also allowed me to enhance the skills I possess in order to become a better individual for my future professional career.
