Hello, my name is Georgina and I am a 2nd year Fashion student at Coventry University.

I have many exciting new modules to tackle this year, and I intend to use them to help shape my knowledge and experience of the fashion industry, so as to best prepare myself for work placement opportunities. I am keen to take the optional 'year out' from study so that I can broaden my horizons, gain practical work place experience and develop my portfolio as a fashion industry practitioner.

I try not to limit myself especially when it comes to work placement opportunities as there is still lots for me to learn. That said, my main interests lie in garment technology, sustainability and editorial work. I have a vested interest in sustainability, particularly sustainable fashion, which goes hand in hand with garment technology. I would be most excited to learn more about and undertake technological research relating to fabric production and performance fabrics, to develop new, exciting and revolutionary sustainable outcomes.

I believe I have a good eye for composition and style, which lends itself to editorial work or social media brand development. I enjoy putting together eye-catching displays, ordering pictures to grab the attention of others and am fascinated by the psychology of the 'modern shopper'. I would love the opportunity to explore this sector in more detail as this is a specialism most relevant to today's society.

Throughout my 1st year of studies and through various work experience opportunities, I have developed a wide range of skills especial to the fashion industry; these will be detailed further in my CV and digital portfolios I hope to have updated and posted very soon. My skills set ranges from practical skills such as store management, people management, visual merchandising, administration & retail operations, to digital skills including, adobe creative cloud, basic website creation, portfolio development along with fashion film creation & editing.
