About

My name is Saurabh, I'm a creative director based in London.  After attending Miami Ad School Europe, I've parked my bike at agencies in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and Boston. With extensive experience in brand building and copywriting for both startups and big brands alike, my work has been recognised at major award festivals around the world.  I’ve spent the past few years working closely with purpose-driven startups profitable and mainstream. I’ve helped them figure out their core brand truth, and build narratives around them rooted in authenticity and relatability, to find and connect with their tribe.  I’m keen to know more about the role you’re offering and how you see the perfect candidate. If you feel we can build something together, let's have a chat.

NOA

Working for an 'agency before the agency' aimed at changing the world for the better can be a huge departure from a regular 'agency' job. At NOA we did things in no ordinary way - helping new wave brands find their essence and their voice, and building their narratives rooted in integrity and sustainability. This gig saw me writing brand stories for my most unusual and progressive clients yet, from a fashion blockchain brand, to a sustainability fund aimed at making natural resources self-owning, to a brand that's the Tesla of motorbikes, to one aiming to transform graveyards into forests. The most thrilling ride yet.

If you hear straight from this horse's mouth, it’ll talk only in German. My first gig as part of a two-man international team in an all-German agency came with its own set of quirks. But working for international accounts for Grundig, Kia and Genesis with an Australian AD becomes more fun than work. Not to mention, the genuine affection and southern charm makes JvM/Neckar the warmest place to work in Germany.

A pool table. A beer machine. Faux leather couches. Little luxuries go a long way when you make global campaigns for P&G. While having an English-only creative department in Germany can be liberating, keeping up with English bosses who can drink you under the table takes getting used to. This gig taught me that no matter how many good ideas die, better ones are always waiting to be discovered.

Snickers. Mars. Becks. When you have these as clients, work becomes more fun than work. You're not yourself when you're at the weekly roof-top Donnerstag Bar. And working out of the fashionable Kö is always exciting. A great start to officially working in Deutschland.

The city of canals is also the city of bicycles and the city of space-cakes. Amsterdam is the city of inspiration. Nothing beats working out of a big canal house in the center of the city and writing a new 'The Simpsons' couch-gag or for ideating for a new brand of Gouda. You can't not create here.

Miami Ad School

The first time I heard about Miami Ad School was in a casual chat with my first CD at ReZonant. Two years later, I applied to their Hamburg center on a whim. While the application preparation took me several months, a scholarship from Niklas confirmed my move to Germany, and eventually to Paris, Boston and Amsterdam. These two years have brought about transformations I probably would have laughed off earlier. And it's just the start.
