Leading the Research and Design team at Reliance
Collaborated with the Chief Product Officer (CPO) to manage a team of 4 designers. Together, we created innovative designs and processes that increased customer engagement by 15% and revenue by 30%. Led the redesign of the brand and product design system to enhance efficiency, reduce design debt, accelerate iteration cycles, and elevate design quality. Achievements included the implementation of design tokens, component blocks, design system versioning, and improved documentation and governance processes. Documented a detailed usability testing process on Notion. This includes tools for collecting and measuring qualitative and quantitative data from usability test sessions, as well as processes for implementing test recommendations.
Led collaborative efforts between the design and management team to refine the company brand strategy, and redesign the company brand assets to reflect the new brand. We also started work on a scalable design system called Vector by leveraging Tailwind and UntitledUI. Supervised the re-design of the insights platform to align with the new brand and a fresh creative direction. The redesign efforts required an overhaul of the legacy UI designs and improvements on the product UX. The redesign helped position Stears as a leader in quality information on Africa and led to a 25% growth in subscription. Supervised the end-to-end design of the Stears mobile app to provide unrivalled access to the deep insight and analysis that Stears offers on Africa. The launch of the Stears mobile app led to the acquisition of over 8,000 new users and 20,000 app downloads. Supervised the design and usability testing of new features for the Stears election center on both web and mobile platforms. The re-designed product attracted over 600,000 weekly visitors during the Nigerian elections. Managed the design project of industry reports for local and global brands like UNDP, Foreign Commonwealth & Dev office, Luminate, UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, Sterling Bank, NSIA, FSDH, and TechCabal. Design efforts for client projects generated over $100,000 in company revenue. These reports were converted to reusable templates for future industry reports Created goals for the design team, that were strategically aligned with the goals and objectives of the product and engineering team.
