Caitlin Yates (She/Her) is a menswear designer and founder of C8Y8S, an independent brand with a focus on print and textiles to portray personal narratives. Through strong pattern cutting, combined alongside tongue in cheek prints, Yates’ pushes to question society’s rules and regulations. Yates’ debut collection, ‘Cotswold Luvvies’, looks at the real life of the Cotswolds; destroying the assumed lifestyle and privilege of this hallowed land of middle England. Yates graduated from BA Fashion Design at University of Westminster in 2021 with a First Class Honours and has previous work experience at MCQ, Alexander McQueen, ASAI TA and Martine Rose. Since graduating Yates has continued to push her garments into the fashion realm, through magazines and collaborations. Her graduate collection has been featured in Vogue Italia, Dazed, 10 Men Magazine, Schön Magazine, Wonderland, Gata Magazine, Hunger Magazine and Notion. Yates was also picked up by New Order of Fashion, and presented her work at Dutch Design Week 2021 in Eindhoven. Yates also won the ArtsThread x Gucci ‘Global Design Graduate Show 2021 for Sports & Denim. Since graduating, Yates worked in industry briefly for Nicholas Daley, followed by a graduate design assistant position for Martine Rose.
