ABOUT ME | ÜBER MICH I am a digital designer that has been in the industry since 2015. I create unforgettable experiences within the digital realm - This is achieved by accelerating brands by composing beautiful and functional websites that stand out from their competitors. I believe the user is at the centre of all good design therefore I often utilise practices commonly associated with storytelling in my UX design process. I am currently a Senior Designer at Yellowball where I am responsible for communicating with clients to deliver bespoke designs with visual aesthetics that are based on method and logic. Other agency experience includes working in Berlin for the strategical storytelling creative agency - Goldener Westen. From initial concept to actualisation, each website I have created has been made without pretence or artifice, with the simple aim of celebrating what is good and has always been good about design. By studying the rules at the foot of the giants, I was then able to learn how and when to bend or break these rules, finding the perfect equilibrium between old/ new, function/beauty, fiction/reality in order to create websites that captivate and inspire those who interact with them. Experience and exploration have taught me the importance of knowing when to fiercely preserve tradition whilst also adapting to the new technologies, trends and styles that make and will always make websites special within the inescapably changing world we live in - one pixel at a time. Changes will continue to come and I hope to embrace them with the confidence and determination that has made me who I am today.
My role involves creating design directions and interfaces for new/potential clients. We are a fast pace agency and work closely with the project management team and junior designers to reach deliverables. My core objective is to challenge one's perception of what a website 'is' giving ownership back to users and my clients.
The agency's core values encapsulate a narrative-driven process based on the art of storytelling, which formed conceptual ideas which we utilised within experience design. GW had 3 departments; Animation, Graphic and Web. We frequently collaborated across all areas of expertise giving us the chance to gain skills in motion, creative coding and UX/UI design.
A freelance contract for a Shoreditch based creative agency specialising in immersive cocktail experiences in London. For this project I worked with the CEO to provide design + front-end for a wine subscription service.
My role encompassed development, graphic + interface design. I collaborated with marketing to create brand guidelines and a visual identity for Deeplake which included generating marketing material, motion graphics in addition to completely redesigning + developing their website
Prior to my further education, I worked for the UK's largest independently owned media company which provided me with many valuable transferable skills in communication. In my role within the digital team, I worked closely with clients + designers to improve the design of advertisements.
SAMSUNG COLCHESTER In my position, I was given the responsibility for launching the Samsung Galaxy S across Essex + Suffolk that involved demonstrating how to use this phone in mobile retail stores to both customers + colleagues OTHER EXPERIENCE At 10 I was washing cars in my local neighborhood. With the money I made from this I would buy, fix + customise cycles with bespoke paint jobs + resell them to my peers. Age 13, I was a paperboy, cycling around the cold, rainy streets at 6am before going to school. 15 I was in a restaurant washing plates - regularly working up to 12-hour shifts including Christmas Day. Whilst studying at University, I worked in various pubs, bars + restaurants.
