I have been exploring all things digital fashion for the past three years, and have studied on the Clo3D Virtual Fashion Design course at The New School. I love pattern cutting and designing in Clo3D, and am interested in creating digital assets, as well as merging digital with real-life garment construction/production.
Projects I’ve worked on: -Digitised an outfit designed by Morag Seaton, for the performance artist MVB’s piece ‘A System of Touch’. This work was for Jerwood Arts Survey III Commission and will is currently showcased at Southwark Park Galleries in London (April 2024). Responsible for pattern cutting in Clo3D & Marvelous Designer, as well as adding all final details to a jacket and pants. The garments were then animated and exported to Unreal Engine, and eventually projected during a live performance by MVB. https://southwarkparkgalleries.org/jerwood-survey-3/ - ‘Hidden Floors’, for Scotland Re: Design at V&A Dundee, November 2023 - Clo3D Consultant, Clo3D tutor, Clo3D Pattern Cutter, Finalising, Renders. - ‘Intertidal’ Augmented Fashion exhibition for Robert Gordon University, October 2023 - worked on a concept-to-digital creation of a fashion collection called 'Intertidal' for an event for Robert Gordon University. I created a video presentation of my personal work and of my involvement with Fashion Interrupted, at this panel event. - ‘Layers Unseen’ Digital Producer, November 2021 - This was a collaborative project for fashion festival Scotland Re: Design 2021, which advanced my digital production abilities and Clo3D skills. -Tweaking and finalising patterns in Clo3D, making them look more realistic and fitted. -Avatar design/creation, posing and animation in Daz3D. -Art direction in Blender; creating sets, lighting, composing final stills and rendering. -Animation and rendering in Clo3D. -AR production in Styly.
‘The Modern Artisan’ Design and manufacturing collaboration between The Princes Foundation and YNAP Dumfries House, September 2019-April 2020 This programme has developed my sewing and pattern cutting skills and given me real world experience of working in the fashion industry. -Pattern cutting: amending and finalising production patterns for pattern graders -Specialist fabric handling: cutting, sampling and sewing with silk, cashmere and wool using techniques including pleating, gathering, smocking, zip and buttonhole insertions. -Fabric pattern matching: cutting and sewing checked fabric. -Sample sewing final prototypes for international media coverage -Production line manufacturing: sewing to specifications and tolerances, following quality control guidelines.
First prize for Commercial Design live brief project Glasgow, June/July 2019 I designed a menswear capsule collection for Trakke. During the work placement I worked with them to make two prototypes of one of the garments from this collection. The result was ‘The Fishnish Smock’, a lightweight water resistant hooded jacket with original embroidered logo design, one in orange Ventile, the other blue waxed cotton.
