I am an experienced jeweller with over 48 years experience as a Jobber and Mounter, I am proficient in watch bracelet and clasp repair and I am skilled in working in Gold, Platinum and Silver. Working in a self-employed capacity has enabled me to develop both first class customer service skills and the ability to prioritise work to ensure that it is completed on time to the customer's satisfaction.

Self employed

Since the offer of buying a local business' repair work became available in 1988 I have been self-employed in the Essex region. I have developed relationships with a number of local jewellers who send me their repair work. Most recently I have been working with Swisstime who are the official service agent for Omega. Longines, Ebel, Rado, and Breguet. Swisstime subcontracted all of their work on these repairs exclusively to me. Through the relationship with Swisstime and other local jewellers I have also: • Become skilled in the making of Milanese watch bracelets and clasps • Made one off links in 9ct & 18ct Platinum • Repaired Gem set cocktail watches • Reclawed gem set watch cases • Designed and made one off clasps • Made and fitted watch case lugs I am also skilled in making various types of wedding rings in all precious metals, and have excellent piercing skills. I am able to hand make collets, re tip & fit new claws, size & re shank rings, repair tennis bracelets, repair rope chains & can polish jewellery to a high standard. Outside of the technical skills required for my work I have developed excellent customer service skills and understand how precious a piece of jewellery can be to them. Being able to repair even the simplest piece and present the restored item back to the owner is a particularly rewarding aspect of my job. Due to the age of some of the pieces I am asked to repair I am often required to come up with novel ways to restore them, in the past this has meant designing and making bespoke tools to enable me to repair the piece to the standard both I and the customer want.
