I have just finished my A Levels studying Geography, Business and Textiles, where I am now studying (BSc) Fashion Management at the University of the Arts, London. I am looking for any work experience or internship opportunities, within the business and fashion industry.
This intensive 4-day virtual internship program provided an in-depth exploration of the business, marketing, and operations sectors. I participated in specialised talks, skill-building sessions, and networking opportunities with industry professionals, as well as engaging in panel discussions. Additionally, I completed a work sample assigned by Bright Networks' employer partners, which offered practical experience in the marketing industry, deepening my understanding further.
My experience at Streeters provided me with valuable insights into the operations of a fashion business, highlighting the industry's diverse departments, from model styling to set design. I was responsible for organising various media formats, including magazines and videos, into more accessible formats / presentations. This included categorising Spring/Summer 2023 fashion shows by location, designer, and set designer, making the information more accessible for the team, enhancing overall efficiency.
Whilst working at the Waterside Café I developed strong essential skills in the hospitality industry, which included: - Efficiently handling inquiries and resolving issues. - Managing point-of-sale operations, including taking orders, processing payments and handling the till. - Preparing and serving a variety of high-quality beverages and food. - Maintaining stock levels. This role enhanced my communication skills, excellent customer service, attention to detail, and ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
During lockdown, I tutored an 8-year-old in English via Zoom. I independently sourced appropriate learning materials and designed engaging, informative weekly lessons tailored to the student's needs. My approach focused on creating a supportive learning environment, improving confident and language skills, and maintaining the student's interest through creative lesson planning.
I was invited to provide feedback on a new Moshi Monsters game prior to its launch. Using my knowledge of the current market and understanding of consumer preferences, I offered valuable insights into what my age demographic was interested in to help shape the game's development. My feedback focused on aligning the game with the expectations and interests of the Moshi Monsters community, ensuring it would resonate with its target audience, of the younger demographic.
