I run my business as a professional pattern cutter and have worked freelance in the clothing industry for over 20 years. I have extensive experience creating corporate workwear, country clothing, and leisurewear patterns, catering to the high street and high-end fashion sectors. My clients include well-known and respected brands as well as established manufacturers. My expertise encompasses menswear, ladies, children's, and babywear, focusing on patterns suitable for bulk production. I have extensive experience in cutting multi-product patterns for various materials, both manually and digitally, using CAD software. My process begins with creating a master pattern once clients approve the fit, which is then graded into different sizes. I am adept at following technical packs and design briefs to create custom 'special measure' patterns based on measurements provided by clients. Alternatively, I can work on specific samples to assess fit and appearance. I collaborate closely with clients to discuss and finalise patterns, making necessary alterations to achieve the desired look and fit for production.

**CAD/CAM Software Program** Over the years, I have invested in and become familiar with computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software programs, including Automarker software for pattern creation and grading. This software features integrated capabilities for material costing and optimisation and allows for marker making. It can import and export all major CAD formats through DXF and RUL files and easily convert industry-standard data. Additionally, I possess a strong knowledge of mathematics and pattern-cutting principles, which enables me to create master patterns manually. Once the master patterns are approved by clients, they are graded in various sizes using either CAD software or manual grading techniques. The designs are then sent to a high-speed, professional studio cutting plotter, which ensures the accurate plotting of long markers and precise cutting of pattern layouts on card stock. The patterns are then ready for marking, production, and assembly for bulk orders. The Automarker software program can generate layout plans for different pattern sizes to minimise waste and estimate material yardage.
