After interning for four days at the October fair I was offered this role. The role is operations where I work alongside the Office Manager to make sure our three annual fairs run smoothly paying utmost attention to detail. While also being one of the points of contact for our antique dealers.
I was present on the opening and second day and was asked back for the closing day and next day. While working at the fair I welcomed those with tickets to collect, spoke to dealers about sales, counted pass out slips in addition to organising the tickets into the assorted categories, learned about the Fair Organiser Assistant role and joined the early morning electrics check to compare what was ordered versus what each dealer was using so they are appropriately charged. On the closing night, I helped load Hudson Antique's van, packed up the office and the next day visited and unpacked the office.
I was present at the fair each day and performed an array of tasks from putting through sales, flyering, welcoming guests, cleaning and being a point of contact for artists and visitors alike.
Took part in the Host training including opening and pouring wine and clearing away a table of plates.
Invited to participate in the Chairman's Programme at Christie's for a week of full-time work learning about different roles which allowed an insight into how an art business runs. Also shadowed the Law Department for a day.
I was representing Maryam Eisler at the Sotto il Sole di Capri Exhibition in June 2021 this involved speaking to clients and selling Maryam's books and prints. For Maryam's Once Upon a Turquoise Past Exhibition at the David Linley Gallery in November 2021; I compiled a mailing list on Excel and sent invites using Paperless Post. I was present at the opening night speaking to clients and selling the prints. At present I am continually adding to the mailing list and assisting Maryam Eisler when needed.
Gallery assistant to artist Karolina Woolf for the Sotto il Sole di Capri Exhibition I helped in Karolina's studio, setting up and taking down the exhibition, creating and ordering promotional material as well as being present in the gallery each day. I would speak to clients and sell Karolina's sculptures. This was a group exhibition so I also assisted Pandemonia in the selling of her artwork. And Maryam Eisler who's work I spoke about to many clients also sold her prints and books.
