I took part in a 3-day work experience where I was able to take part in different workshops. Within the workshop, I focused on several types of engineering. For example: Robot Coding, Software and Mechanical engineering. Learnt how to code and programmed a robot. Used valuable skills such as teamwork and problem solving as faced many issues with software. Used new software which helped with CAD ability. Electrical engineering. Learned quickly how to operate new equipment. Used quality assurance as fixed problems as they occurred. Used good attention to detail while working on a small circuit board.
Worked in brownies as a girl guide, helped with planning and running activities, helping with coordination of trips. I helped girls build confidence and learn new skills through activities I set up all while having fun. During that I learnt new skills like: Leadership as I was leading a group of young girls. I used my existing skills in teamwork and communication to tackle problems that can be brought up while working with others.
Volunteered at my primary school to coach a few kids from P1 – P7 on how to fence (after doing fencing for 6 years), helping my coach to further teach the fencing (mainly refereeing) helped me develop other skills like: Enforcing rules fairly to both parties. Making sure I was impartial to both sides.
