About

Emerging designer, Ronald is an honors graduate of ESMOD-Beirut, and Central Saint Martins in London. He launched his first ready-to-wear collection, X-Ray, in 2007, and was quickly recognized by the international fashion press as something of a rebel, and compared to such luminaries as Jean-Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen. Born in London in March 1979, his culturally diverse fashion style is a reflection of his rich international background, (having lived and studied in London, Lagos, Paris, Nice, Los Angeles, and Beirut). Since the launch of his label, Ronald has produced sixteen women's’ ready-to-wear collections, as well as 5 couture collections, and three bridal. His signature style includes bias-cut gowns, elaborate draping, and creative embellishments and embroideries. His style is bold and architectural yet sensual and feminine. His distinctive designs represent a unique interplay of western fashion modes and craftsmanship with traditional Middle Eastern elements.

House of Ronald (Ronald Abdala Ltd.)

In the course of running my own luxury women’s ready to wear line, I have designed and produced seasonal collections in the last ten years. Whilst this involves running a varied team, I have been very hands-on in all stages from conceptualization to production and presentation. My route into fashion design was via my skills in illustration. This means I can sketch both detailed full looks and technical drawings that I would present to my production team to implement. My sensitivity to and joy in color and print is, in my view, a result of my Middle Eastern heritage.
