SUMMARY I am a London-based editor of a leading jewellery and watch magazine, and a freelance journalist seeking a career with a forward-thinking, successful magazine. I have a flexible and engaging writing style, and I specialise in jewellery and watch, and culture journalism.
In this role, I manage the magazine’s digital and social media output, write regular monthly print features, and report on global jewellery and watch events. I also help to organise the Retail Jeweller Festival, the leading UK trade event in its sector, alongside multiple other events, where I have moderated discussion panels and roundtables on sustainability and ethics in the sector. Whilst Retail Jeweller's managing editor was on maternity leave, I assumed more responsibility and ensured the magazine ran smoothly in her absence.
As a contributing writer for Hunger Magazine, I produce regular content for their digital site, recently interviewing the Grammy award-winning artist Camille Purcell for a digital cover feature.
I wrote articles for the political, business and culture pages for the New York fashion magazine Volatile, which is one of the leading modern media publications for black fashion. I edited and uploaded content on their digital site, researched popular digital trends to keep the publication at the forefront of popular culture and managed their social media accounts by creating popular reels and TikToks.
I regularly interviewed musicians, actors and designers for articles that featured in Wonderland’s print issues, as well as successfully pitched ideas for digital.
In my role as Junior Journalist, I was responsible for writing investigative and engaging articles that were published on Bamae’s website. I planned the editorial calendars for the company and I also worked closely with the marketing team to come up with new strategies to boost brand engagement.
I planned the weekly editorial calendars and produced multiple articles specialising in lifestyle and fashion content. I also learnt how to write engaging SEO content to boost engagement with the publication and promote independent, sustainable brands and cruelty-free cosmetic companies.
In my role, I assisted the Editor-In-Chief in the running of the publication by pitching weekly ideas for articles and features, editing content on Squarespace and writing multiple articles per week. I also managed the social media accounts to ensure there was a strong engagement over multiple platforms. I directed the popular interview series, 'A Hot Minute With' and was responsible for finding new talent to include, managing a team of writers and conducting my own interviews with international designers. I also assisted in the research and development of creative briefs and partnerships for the publication.
I wrote engaging articles for the blog of the UK’s largest student-run fashion, music and dance show. As the content writer, I also had the opportunity to interview charity leaders and CEOs of independent businesses.
In my position I planned, researched, commissioned and wrote articles for the online website and bi-weekly magazine. I led and supported young writers who contributed to our paper and I helped to distribute our content across various forms of social media. Working in the editorial team trained me in article editing, Indesign, Photoshop and Ghost for the layup of the magazine. As a member of the English board, I edited, fact-checked and reviewed essays to improve clarity and readability for publication in the student journal. I edited a large volume of articles under strict deadlines to a grammatically flawless standard.
