June 2024 I began working at Selfridges within the women’s footwear concession for the brand Office. Going in as a supervisor with responsibilities in managing and leading the sales team, driving sales on the shops floor and HR Admin duties as well. I am responsible for communications between staff and customers and staff and senior management, organising the daily planner, keeping up to date with the email inbox and writing reviews and note taking / leading disciplinary meetings.
I began working at Paige in September 2023, shortly after graduating from University. It was a fantastic opportunity where I got involved in the opening of the store, unpacking and organising thousands of units of stock and gaining as much product knowledge as I could in the mean time. Upon the store opening, I adapted to the way of selling and service quickly and shortly after Christmas I was given responsibilities in product feedback, conducting floor walks and analysing sales reports to provide feedback into how areas where we may be missing out on sales. I also got involved in composing and editing outreach emails to our clientele to inform them of offers in store such as sales and personal styling sessions. I also took steps to develop my skills and led morning briefs, delegated the team throughout the day and built relationships with people around the business.
I worked with Schuh for two years during my studies at university and it was this role that launched me into realising my skills for communication, building relationships and managing a busy, faced past work environment. Once graduated I was promoted to senior sales advisor where I gained insight into the operational aspects of retail such as stock control, stock counts, sales targets on a scale larger than day to day expectations, managing inventory and having an awareness of commerciality when merchandising the shop floor.
As a volunteer copywriter for Norwich based community outreach programme Ourside, I worked remotely to produce copy for their advertising and website information. I liaised with management via Zoom to discuss intentions for the project and completed additional edits and changes to their work over a course of time. I worked with them on a voluntary basis to gain experience in copywriting while doing my degree.
