Working during year 13 helped develop my flexibility and being around professionals helped my attention to detail in a high pressure environment which I was new to. I had many difficult experiences whilst working there but I was able to use level headed communication and patience to come to logical conclusions and avoid issues. This shows my ability to adapt to alternative routes as well as remaining resilient during dilemmas, perfect for dealing with customers of all sorts.
I had the opportunity to work in a nursery with children aged 6 months to 5 years. This allowed me to grow both my communication skills in stressful conditions as well as patience with people who are not so easy to deal with. These are vital in working with customers, as well as the busy environments retail careers are known for.
A project I participated in as operations manager involved raising money for children in Malawi and India. My role in the team showed how I was able to maintain an open mind and deal with crises. This also demonstrated my ability to work well in a team, creating that effective work environment between staff to ensure efficient output and successful shifts.
