Completed and passed online training in Customer Service, Food Allergens, Health & Safety, The Fire Marshall, and First Aid Awareness. Duties included: Serving/speaking to customers. Guiding shoppers and helping them find required food items. DOT-COMMING work (manually picking online food orders in preparation for customer delivery). Subbing items that were unavailable and informing shelf fillers to restock. Cleaning up floor spillages. Isle filling.
Worked as a housekeeper for 8 months. Completed and passed online training in Customer Service, The Housekeeper, Food Allergens, Workplace Sexual Harassment, Health & Safety, The Fire Marshall, Guest Service, and First Aid Awareness. Duties included: Hoovering to hotel standards. Cleaning air conditioning & heating vents to remove dust and insects. Cleaning surfaces and bathrooms using appropriate chemicals. Worked as a waitress in Crumbs cafe for 4 months covering for an existing member of staff. Responsibilities included: Studying a manual on food handling, hygiene, approaching customers, taking orders, till guide, food storage, and coffee machine operation. Cashiering and interacting with customers (handling cash and card). Making hot drinks (coffee, latte, teas, americano, iced coffee's) and clearing when finished. Waitressing duties. Taking orders via phone and in person. Washing plates, filling the dishwasher, emptying bins, and cleaning tables. Bringing food out to customers on trays. Folding and setting cutlery wrapped in napkins.
I volunteered here as part of my Duke Of Edinburgh Silver award. I needed to do a form of charity work. However once my hour's were completed I fell in love with working there and stayed for an extra year and a half. In total I worked here for 2 years. Responsibilities included: Cashier/till work. Selecting and arranging items for shop display units and shelves (including home ware, clothing, accessories, books, jewellery). Creating and arranging shop window displays using mannequins, strings, and other props. Researching donated items and pricing them for sale. Training and helping other volunteers. Sorting new donations into three piles (vintage shop, non-vintage charity shops, disposal/recycling). Shop floor cleaning (dusting, hoovering, emptying bins, safety checks for cables and clear exits, cleaning door knobs and display units, refilling sanitisers and bathroom toiletries). Steam ironing donated delicate vintage clothing. Welcoming customers and helping with enquiries. Ensuring constant staff presence on the shop floor. Protecting shop produce from theft.
