Hi reader, I am Ricardo Pina, a Fashion Footwear Designer with over 16 years of experience across the fast Fashion, Sportswear, and Luxury sectors. I have had the privilege of designing for some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Givenchy, Kenzo, Adidas, Puma, and Zara as well as contributing to groundbreaking collaborations with Fenty by Rihanna, McQ Alexander McQueen, Y-3, Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Alexander Wang, Yohji Yamamoto and so on. Throughout my career, I have combined creative vision with technical expertise to develop trend-setting, commercially successful designs. My work is characterized by a strong understanding of brand DNA, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for innovation. Fashion Show collections, Pre-collections and Haute Couture collections. Atelier and VIP special projects. Asics x Givenchy collaboration. Constant alignment meetings with Creative Director, RTW design teams, development and merchandising departments. Assistance at fashion show backstage, pre-collection campaign photo shootings, styling, fittings and casting sessions. Managment of Interns. Part of the whole design process of Y-3, and the collaborative collections Raf Simons x Adidas and Rick Owens x Adidas. Design of special projects to be integrated in Yohji Yamamoto’s own collections. Interaction with the japanese Yohji Yamamoto’s design team to build all the Y-3 collections. Work closely with development and marketing departments to shape and materialize the products and range. Development trips to China for a close follow-up in the factories. Work closely with the Adidas product teams - pattern makers, 3D designers, sample room - to make full samples in house. In touch with all the Adidas departments to have access to the Adidas archive and the innovative technologies.

PUMA | COLLABORATIONS Senior Unisex Footwear Designer

Design the collaborative collections with the next partners: Fenty by Rihanna, McQ from Alexander McQueen, Sophia Webster, Stampd, Trapstar, UEG, Daily Paper, The Cooples, Naturel, Staple, Careaux, Dee & Ricky, Vashtie, etc. Lead Designer for the footwear, apparel and accessories design teams on the Fenty by Rihanna x Puma collaboration. Creation of the whole aesthetic concept and range structure for the McQ x Puma collaboration. Part of the whole design process of all the Puma collaborations, including constant trips to team up with the partners at their HQ. Design the “ Puma Select” collection for the Sportstyle BU. Design the “Fast Track” and “Cream Drop” special products for the Sportsyle BU. Development trips to Italy and Vietnam for a close follow-up in the factories.

Three years as footwear designer and one year as accessories designer, both in Zara Woman, the premium BU within Zara. Work closely with spanish footwear factories and their sample rooms and makers. Work closely with spanish suppliers to develop last, outsoles, heels and trims. Work closely with leather suppliers from Italy, Spain and Portugal. Attendance to Lineapelle and Première Vision. Research trips to New York, Paris, London, Milan, Hong Kong, etc. Development trips to China and India for a close follow-up in the factories.
