I have hands-on experience in charity retail, including sorting, pricing, and displaying fashion items, till support, and stock management. My duties on week days are the following: Changing and throwing out all bins and replacing them correctly (both recycling and regular) Sweeping the floors of both the storage area and the kitchen area. Mopping the kitchen area and storage area while putting up cautionary ‘wet floor signs’ Wiping down and scrubbing all surfaces with an antibacterial towel. Replacing things such as hand towels, milk, coffee and tea. On weekends my duties include: hoover and mopping the whole top and bottom floor. Hoover and mopping the inside of all three loo’s (per floor) Scrubbing the inside of the loo’s with an antibacterial liquid. Checking and replacing soaps and hand creams. Checking and replacing hand towels and loo rolls. Throwing used towels into the wash and retrieving new ones from storage for the showers. Cleaning the inside of the showers to prevent limescale. Putting dishes to wash, drying and placing them back into shelves or manually if the washer decides to break. Dusting. Scrubbing the sinks to prevent limescale and mold. Wiping down the mirrors.
Working alongside the owner, responsible for: Keeping records of all stock donated and sold Cleaning all new stock on receipt Uploading photos of stock for sale through various sites (Ebay, Vinted etc) with descriptive details Answering online messages from potential buyers about any items
Various assignments including vacuuming and cleaning all surfaces, utility cleaning, dish washing and replacing bedding.
Responsible for: Sorting through donated bags of goods into saleable and non-saleable items Ironing all eligible clothing, sizing and pricing all items and displaying on shop floor. Occasionally covering the till and general cleaning.
