• Technical and creative monitoring: research of new technologies and new fabrics and materials • Launch product development process alongside Design team from concept through Pre- production samples for man and woman (2 pre-collections and 1 shows per season + capsule collections) • Develop, manage and monitor samples budget • Price negotiation • Manage product costing at each proto stage and negotiate costs with factories • Launch counter-sourcing options for price comparisons and source new vendors • Participate to fitting sessions with artistic director • Check quality and workmanship of proto samples • Fabric sourcing and development • Manage and update bills of materials • Explain collection inspirations, technologies and main characteristics
• Follow product development both internally (between the different departments involved) and externally according to 3 different segmentations: suppliers (finished products in China, India and Turkey), sub-contractors (sub-contracted products or à façon in Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey) and fabric and trims suppliers (Italy, Japan, China, Turkey, Spain, Portugal) • Manage the costing process and analyse margins per product category in order to decide on negotiation strategies • Monitor deliveries and in-store implementations • Find pro-active solutions in order to improve lead time for bulk and speed up deliveries of replenishment orders • Take part in fitting sessions and coordinate weekly Design/ R&D/Production/MD meetings to ensure on-time delivery for key development and production samples • Participate to purchasing meetings with Retail and MD • Guarantee and handle transfer of technical sheets and fitting comments to the suppliers • Responsible for implementation of purchasing policies and quality standards defined by the company, assuring he highest quality • Coordinate flows between different departments: product dept., design dept., quality, marketing and logistic • Participate on regular basis to textile exhibitions/fairs and visit suppliers/sub-contractors
