Lucy Tammam

Couturier and luxury sustainable fashion oracle
About

A Fashion Design alumna of Central Saint Martins, dedicated to sustainable sourcing and reinvigorating traditional textiles crafts and couture techniques through modern design. Combining textiles innovation and sustainability practices with couture craftsmanship to create work with a conscience and social message in response to the modern world. Motivated by a strong drive to change the industry for the better, with almost 20 years of experience, connections (spanning India, Nepal, Kenya, Europe and the UK) and ideas developing sustainable supply chains to create the most environmentally, ethically and visually perfect luxury fashion materials. Innovations and developments have included sustainable tulle (UK made using eco viscose), peace silk/eco viscose bridal and evening wear fabrics comparable to traditional high-end materials (duchess satin, faille), hand loomed climate stripe fabrics, vegan wool and silk alternatives, natural fibre laces and much more. A passion for sustainability and determination to change the fashion industry for the better, hopeful to save the planet at the same time. Looking for a part time /freelance position to offer my unique expertise in developing sustainable luxury fabric and garment construction and implementing ideas of circularity to be used on a large scale and reach a global market – furthering the opportunities for luxury sustainable materials and supporting artisans and crafts people.
