I am a creative person with a solid foundation within the fashion industry. My entrepreneurial mindset enabled me to found Mean Child, a consultancy business which led to working with independent brands on design and production projects from concepts to completion.
I worked closely with the lead designer during the production process; fittings, sampling, darning and using an industrial linker. I also became accustomed to working with sustainable practises and local fibres.

I work with small brands and graduate designers to develop knitwear for their collections. This includes the production of knitwear samples both hand knit and machine knits while working closely with the designer to develop their ideas and produce high quality garments. This includes fully fashioned knits and pattern production.
I collaborated with Veldon Salim to produce samples for his collections as well as finished pieces, this was an ever changing process with strict deadlines due to external buyers. There was an emphasis on crochet and hand knits whilst finding ways to reduce waste.
Working closely with designers during Resort 2020 and Spring 2020 Collections. Role involved producing flats/ technical drawings and modifying prints for fabric using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Assisting in the creation of delivery boards for the capsule collections, ranging from initial ideas to fabric swatches for finalised looks. Assisted with fittings, shoots, and hands-on sampling of accessories and fabrics.
Assisting cutters and machinists in a busy sample room. The role involves pattern and fabric cutting, embroidery placement, hand sewing, finishings, fabric sourcing, stand work and sample production. Also included finishing and producing external placements (such as feathers and embroidery) for collection garments and assisted London Fashion Week AW19. The 6 months covered two seasons.
Hand knit and crochet sample production, working closely with the lead designer in pattern-cutting, sourcing yarns and full garment construction. Also hand-dyed garments with both natural and synthetic dyes. Independently crafted a chequered crochet shawl for "Collection VI".
