The Director will oversee and implement retail and web merchandising processes, manage the team, and ensure the tools are in place to support these initiatives. Additionally, this role will lead and drive transformation within the Design and Merchandising department, working closely with marketing, retail, and SCM teams to foster new ways of working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market and Competitive Analysis:
- Analyze market opportunities and competition to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Monitor and identify product/category growth opportunities for each brand, ensuring alignment with their respective DNA.
- Business Strategy and Collection Management:
- Develop and implement business strategies for building collections, while supporting the buying process and in-season management.
- Optimize collections to drive growth and productivity by ensuring efficient assortments and SKU selection.
- Propose and validate collection plans and assortments that align with each brand’s DNA and the overall company strategy.
- DtoC Collections Performance:
- Develop and monitor the performance of DtoC collections, ensuring they meet sales and margin targets.
- Set strategic guidelines and develop global collection plans and assortments.
- Collaborate with the design and product development teams to ensure marketing and sales goals are effectively translated into collection concepts and developments.
- Ensure that collection plans, offers, and price structures are aligned and make necessary decisions to optimize them.
- Ensure compliance with timelines and frameworks.
- Product Marketing of Collections:
- Lead margin and brand simulations for pricing to meet budget targets and maintain proper price positioning.
- Support internal communications, ensuring the story and key messages behind the offer are shared effectively with all departments: sales, communications, digital, marketing.
- Organize buying sessions and oversee the creation of product marketing tools to support business needs.
Profile:
Skills:
- Strong consumer insight, particularly regarding international markets, supported by data.
- Business and results-oriented, with a strong analytical mindset to drive growth and optimize productivity.
- Fluency in both French and English. Knowledge of Italian and/or Spanish is an advantage.
- Natural leadership qualities and an ability to engage and inspire teams.
- Strong project management skills with a focus on rigor and organization.
- Adaptable and agile, comfortable with change and new technologies, and committed to continuous learning.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-brand, multicultural, and matrixed environment.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar position within a global DtoC company.
- Proven success in driving business growth, particularly in building and managing cohesive product portfolios.
- Experience in managing intercultural teams.
