With a brief stint as a Sales Assistant at London Air Ambulance Charity Shop, I honed key retail skills such as customer service, transactions, and stockroom management. My passion for storytelling and creativity, nurtured through extensive experience in the entertainment industry, enhances my ability to connect with customers and upsell effectively.
- Attended the Universal offices and took the initiative to seek out tasks and any assignments from Jessica Spaine of promotions for TV and broadcasting. - Researched a number of artists and bands within, primarily, the Polydor Records roster and other labels like Island, Decca and Universal International. - Collated a number of artists’ stats for their social-media analytics i.e. likes, followers and subscribers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Vevo for artists and bands like 30 Seconds to Mars, Becky Hill, Black Eyed Peas, Demi Lovato, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Gary Barlow and Raye in the A&R department. - Listened to music tracks from established and new signees for Polydor, one of which was from the band Years and Years.
- Wrote scripts for short films using screenwriting software like Movie Magic and Final Draft. - Researched concepts and presenting ideas to the managing director. - Rewrote scripts and treatments to reach a shooting draft ready to film on-set.
- Researched pieces of information from either a representative or the individual in person or secondary sources i.e. print, TV etc. for potential news stories. - Written several (approx 200+) of articles on the music industry from opinion pieces and features to track, album and mixtape reviews for recording artists using Word Press and Microsoft Word. - Liaised with managers, A&R and other members of a music artist's team and through record labels for press releases. - Attended gigs and showcase events in order to be aware of up and coming talent within the music business and also review the event and parties in general. - Interviewed several influential people within the music industry such as Lady Lykez, Rachael Adedeji, Star.One and Tim Westwood.
- Transfer a pile of goods in containers such as books/publishing, souvenieres, clothing, antiques, electronics etc between two shops. - Recycling, unpacking, stacking and grooming 2nd hand material such as clothes and toys from customers and placing material to be tested or valued for auction by the assessor or sold in the shop. - Pricing various goods i.e. books/magazines/guides, clothes, silverware, glass, wax etc ready for sale at the charity shop and being a cashier.
- Sourced news stories through different mediums including TV, print and online. - Contributed to the development of a brand marketing strategy for the magazine. - Played a key role in casting participants like Film Director Penny Woolcock, for a “Stop and Search” documentary. - Written several articles on the music and gaming industry, which have been featured on the site.
