A Parisian fashion brand is looking for an experience Materials & Supplies Buying Manager. Within the brand's supply chain department, the Materials and Supplies Purchaser implements the company's purchasing policy in conjunction with the supply chain director. He / she guarantees the best purchasing conditions for materials by negotiating the best price conditions and monitors deliveries.

Your main responsibilities are:
Sourcing of materials / supplies
• Visit exhibitions, learn about the collections of its partners
• Offer seasonal materials and new techniques
• Control the number of suppliers, qualities and colors
• Have a stable, precise, balanced supply of suppliers meeting our needs and constraints
• Find new partners according to the needs of the seasons.
Purchase of materials / supplies
• Order materials / supplies
• Establish purchase contracts and specifications
• Take charge of the price and deadlines negotiation part
• Validate orders and invoices, coordinate the link with accounting
• Respect your allocated budget, continuously monitor costs and purchasing budgets
• Manage supply times on a daily basis and meet deadlines
• Set up information transmission tools
• Use our PLM system and IT tool
• Receive and control materials
Advice and product knowledge
• Preparation of pre-purchase appointments:
• Alert if changes in progress on certain materials or quality issues.
• Provide the interface between suppliers, production, studio
Focus
• Anticipate fabric industrialization difficulties in collaboration with material development / testing
• Propose and set up alternative sourcing when necessary
• Ensure regulatory compliance, the proper fulfillment of negotiated contractual conditions
• Transmission of information to controlled production and ensure within the set dates.
• Be a technical support for the production if necessary.
Storage
• Optimize prologue stocks by collaborating with production teams
• Make an inventory of each collection and update the binders
• Manage and reduce the unused production / collection material stock by offering them in the seasonal selection, or for special projects
• Also offer overstocking for material pre-purchases for carry-over materials.
• Set up an annual material destocking on the collection and production stock
Reporting
• Creation of regular reporting tools to be put in place (stock, deadlines, qualities / suppliers, budget)
• Creation of quantitative and qualitative performance monitoring indicators to improve the general performance of the purchasing division.
• Monitor the proper integration of suppliers upstream and downstream of the production process
Education and level of experience required:
Business school, you are specialized and already have a strong experience in purchasing for a luxury house (minimum 5 years).
• Qualifications required:
High capacity for work in a demanding environment;
Excellent knowledge of the luxury industry;
Essential team spirit. Sense of communication and interpersonal skills;
Responsiveness, autonomy, methodical and rigorous.
Management of emergencies and priorities. Loving to evolve in a challenging environment
Languages: Excellent level of English and French essential. A third language like Italian, Spanish or German would be a plus.
