Assistant Merchandiser

This innovative sustainable science led fashion apparel brand are looking for an Assistant Planner to join the Commercial team and be part of a new and expanding Planning department. This person will work closely with Merchandising, Operations and Production and cover all areas of Merchandise Planning. This person should have strong understanding of retail KPI’s and how to influence them to reach profit and turnover objectives, making recommendations on assortment, product flow and stock exit strategy. This is a challenging, fast paced hands on role. Being able to work autonomously and challenge ideas is key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in formulating the Planning strategy, implementing new processes to optimise sales, stock and margin.
  • Collate seasonal analysis and insight into price, colour, size, margin and other metrics. 
  • Maintain WSSI and Line cards, making recommendations on rebuy dates and volumes required. 
  • Manage OTB, trade in-season, analysing sales patterns and identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Proactively develop working relationships with key retail contacts maximising every opportunity to educate the wider team on Planning processes. 
  • Together with Operational teams, support execute & maintain industry best practice throughout the network and     improve internal and external operations processes.
  • Work with production to optimize speed to market. 
  • Support and develop the retail performance of other Wholesale doors & special projects, including pop-ups, installations & activations.
  • As the department grows this candidate will be key to support in training and development of other team members. 

Requirements:

  • Previous P&L accountability with highly effective numerical and financial skills.
  • Trading mentality, able to work at pace, challenge results and create new solutions. 
  • Excellent understanding of retail process, systems and KPI’s.
  • Organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage varying stakeholder requirements.
  • Influencing skills with an ability to deal with complex issues whilst maintaining strong relationships at all levels.
  • Preferable experience in a fast pace, high growth business, comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Feeling comfortable with a hands on role and can work autonomously.
