We are seeking a hands-on Finance Director as the sole person in the Finance department. You will have broad responsibilities, end to end, ranging from Book-keeping and Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable, Tax, VAT, Annual accounts through to advanced tasks such as Audit preparation, Risk and Break-even analysis and inter-company account coordination. Splitting your time evenly between the Fashion retail side and the Equity/Fund side of the business, you will act as Finance Director for a Luxury leather goods brand, collaborating on procurement, financial analysis, pricing, and management accounts. On the Equity/fund side, you will handle fund audits, compliance and coordination with their fund administrator. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of luxury retail, fund structures, exceptional attention to detail, and proficiency in Xero and Excel.

Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping, Accounts Receivable/Payable, Tax and VAT
  • Take ownership of compliance and inter-company account coordination
  • Prepare management accounts
  • Perform break-even analysis and risk-assessment
  • Coordinate with fund administrator in Luxembourg
  • Review and prepare annual accounts, tax accounts, and ensure compliance
  • Prepare for audits and maintain accurate inter-company balances
  • Conduct small-scale accounting for small/inactive companies, simple reviews
  • Serve as the first line of review for tax filings and accounts
  • Foster communication with dedicated accountants and stakeholders
  • Utilise Xero for accounting and demonstrate strong Excel skills
  • Perform cash flow forecasts and potentially financial modeling with support from leadership

Requirements:

  • Capable, ambitious and ready to handle basic tasks along with the complex
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to get things right the first time
  • Experience from high-end retail industry
  • Understanding of fund structures and prior experience with audits
  • Proficiency in Xero and Excel
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently as the sole person in the finance department
  • Availability to work 2-3 days per week in the office for team interaction
