Head of Merchandising & Development Accessories

We are seeking a Head of Merchandising & Development Accessories to join a renowned brand in the world of fashion and luxury, and to contribute to the growth of our product range. The role involves leading a team and working closely with various departments to ensure a consistent product offering aligned with our creative vision.


Responsibilities

  • Define and execute merchandising and product development strategy for leather goods, jewelry, footwear, and other accessory lines.
  • Lead a team.
  • Act as a key liaison with the studio, production team, supply chain, and suppliers.
  • Conduct collection reviews: analyze sell-in and sell-out results by product family, segments, price ranges, regions, etc.
  • Create an information network with Retail, Wholesale Commercial, and E-commerce teams to integrate market needs.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and seasonal trend analysis (store checks, competitor offer analysis, product comparisons).
  • Define product strategy and collection brief.
  • Develop and follow the Creation & Development calendar, including key stages and detailed definitions.
  • Define sourcing and supplier strategy, establishing partnership relationships.
  • Prepare and manage development budgets.
  • Build the collection structure by product family, product type, and price segments.
  • Set price objectives and monitor cost evolution to achieve margin targets.
  • Collaborate with studio and development teams throughout the season to balance creative vision and commercial objectives.
  • Manage costs and product margins, optimize through product development, negotiate with suppliers, and monitor final industrial margins.
  • Coordinate showroom preparation and communicate precise product and collection details to the sales team.
  • Present collections to all stakeholders (retail, development, artistic direction, general management).
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Visual Merchandising, Communication, and Retail teams to harmonize and maximize collection launches and special projects.
  • Ensure follow-up on product customer feedback (quantitative and qualitative) in collaboration with customer service and after-sales service.

Desired Profile

  • Education and Experience: Business school graduate or equivalent, with significant experience (minimum 6 years) in merchandising and developing accessory lines, particularly in luxury leather goods.
  • Required Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and organizational abilities.
  • High attention to detail, precision, and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of the luxury sector.
  • Essential team spirit.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsiveness, autonomy, versatility.
  • Languages: Excellent proficiency in English and French is essential. A third language such as Italian or Spanish is a plus.
  • Additional Information: Strong sensitivity for products and fashion.
