Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This position within the London team will manage the monthly close, annual budgeting, and P&L management of the organization. The responsibilities will strongly focus on but are not limited to the following areas:
Responsibilities
Manage the month-end financial statement close process, including assisting external third-party accounting and tax firms
Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts monthly
Research and report on factors influencing business performance
Develop financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
Manage financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems
Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out
Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organization’s such as the Inland Revenue
Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
Assist in implementing new sources of finance for the company's debt facilities
Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis
Provide guidance to Budget holders in terms of expenses and closely work with them to control costs
Ensure local statutory accounting and tax compliance.
Contribute to the preparation and distribution of monthly financial reporting packages to senior management and corporate team
Skills/Experience Required
Undergraduate Degree in Accounting
At least 4 years of relevant work experience
Part Qualified
Fluent in English
Experience in luxury retail and/or fashion industry is desirable.
Commercial and business awareness
Excellent communication and presentation skills
An analytical approach to work
Experience with ERP (i.e., SAP, NetSuite)
Problem-solving skills and initiative
Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
The ability to balance the demands of work with study commitments.
Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize.
The ability to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships.
Experience with French company reporting
