The brand is now going through a revival and looking for a Junior Designer to join their team based in London. They want someone who is capable of understanding the design strategy moving forward; contributing to the full life cycle of the product and collection in terms of design. 


Junior Designer

Summary

Au Départ is searching for an enthusiastic Junior Designer with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience to join our creative team. As a Junior Designer, you will be responsible for analyzing and studying the latest trends within the fashion & luxury markets, developing and proposing new sketches & prototypes as well as creating graphic illustrations based on mood boards. You must have an eye for detail and a passion for creativity in order to effectively bring ideas to life.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze & study the latest trends within the fashion & luxury markets
  • Support developing & proposing new sketches & prototypes
  • Creation of graphic illustrations taking inspiration from the mood boards
  • Liaising with factories in France or Italy to ensure deadlines
  • Assist in preparing inspirational mood boards for internal meetings and products’ presentations
  • Liaising with our account managers and technologists to ensure products are developed to meet quality and price requirements
  • Working closely with the designers using Illustrator and Photoshop


Requirements

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Fashion Design background
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team Player and Proactive attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible to work as part of a team and individually when needed
  • Customer knowledge of luxury brands & awareness of cost and competitors
  • Keen to contribute ideas
  • Strong CAD skills - confident on Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in French is a plus
