The Art Director of E-commerce will work closely with the Brand Director and brand team and be responsible for translating our footwear, ready-to-wear, accessories and capsule collections into ecommerce language through stills, video, product imagery and editorial layers that uphold the brand’s image. You will be involved in all steps of creation, from ideation and conceptualization to execution. You will also be involved in other art direction projects within the Brand team and and work on a range of digital and print concepts across Axel Arigato’s departments and channels.

In this brand critical role, you deliver and are obsessed with quality end to end in all productions. Therefore, the role entails the Art Director to work closely with the Brand Director, Creative Producer, wider creative and marketing teams.


  The responsibilities of this position encompass, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and establish still and moving e-commerce language in line with the brand image, company strategy and the collections. 
  • Ensure the Axel Arigato vision is communicated through the e-commerce experience and ensure each product category is supported in the best way possible, whilst also ensuring synergy in art direction across all product categories. 
  • Create visually impactful and innovative concepts for still and film in line with brand image, content level and marketing strategy
  • Communicate product launches, capsules and special projects within Axel Arigato’s ecommerce language.
  • Develop the e-commerce shoot concepts from initial idea, research, mood board phase and lead and execute assigned independently from concept to completion
  • Carry out industry research and analysis, and ecommerce market observation
  • Art direct and lead creative teams on-set
  • Be responsible for post-production of image/video material for ecommerce and assigned creative projects. In charge of image selection, retouch comments and oversee retouch/grade
  • Give suggestions for casting models and creative talent
  • Work alongside the Graphic Designers in the production of marketing collateral such as newsletters, invitations, advertising and social media content
  • Support in the research and conceptualizing of other print digital campaigns, creating moodboards and sketches for concept presentations
  • Develop creative style guides and templates for existing and new initiatives – including creative tasks and presentations for other departments
  • Ensure all assets produced meet Axel Arigato’s visual identity standards 
  • Share assets cross-departmentally to ensure content deliverables are complete and ready for launch in a timely manner.  
  • Maintain constant knowledge of current and upcoming projects and product releases. 

Skills, Requirements & Experience:

  • Previous experience in art direction, preferably within a fashion or lifestyle company
  • Strong art direction skills, from concepts to layouts, still and moving image
  • A strong portfolio (online or PDF)
  • Experience from print and digital art direction with video editing a plus
  • Skilled user of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Ability to produce global marketing assets
  • Ability to optimize flows and efficiency
  • Passionate about Axel Arigato with an understanding of the brand and aesthetic
  • Knowledge, interest and understanding of the fashion industry
  • Creative with a large reference library and the ability to think limitlessly.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented and hands-on
  • A strong team player with a positive outlook, happy to help out where needed
