Barrie Knitwear are coming to Leicester, opening a training academy and production unit in 2023. One of the oldest cashmere knitwear manufacturers in Scotland, we have been owned by Chanel since 2012 and are renowned worldwide for our expertise and capabilities, working with multiple luxury brands from our headquarters in Hawick, Scotland.

We want your expertise and skills in linking to help us build a training academy and production unit in Leicester. This is your chance to make use of and develop those linking skills in a high-quality, excellence focussed environment. Specifically, we’re looking right now for a number of trainers for body linking, with at least 2 years of experience in linking and who can build on that experience to train others.

These are permanent, salaried positions and are going to be key to the setting up of Barrie Knitwear in Leicester. We believe in building for the long-term; the market we supply is high-value and growing, with the focus always on excellence and quality, which is fundamental to how we run our business.

As an experienced linker, you’ll know what we are looking for: you’ll be meticulous, detail-orientated and able to work to really high quality standards at speed. To train others, communication and people skills are absolutely essential. The trainers will need to be prepared to spend a couple of weeks visiting our factory in Hawick for induction and training when they first start, but travel and accommodation will be paid for.

We are recruiting for the trainer positions first, but will be looking for linkers soon, so do get in touch even if the trainer role isn’t right for you.

Our working hours are 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and we can look at flexible working patterns. We offer 33 days of annual leave (including public holidays) a flexible benefits scheme, employer pension contribution and life insurance.

Salary £27,000 upwards depending on experience (for Linker Trainers)
