Exciting Italian fashion house is looking for a Key member to join the development team as a Senior Knitwear Product and Development Manager. You will be in charge of overseeing the development of all Knitwear styles(from the protos stage, samples and production). Objective is to deliver all data within the collection planning, liaising with production team and merchandising. This is a permanent contract, OPPORTUNITY BASED IN MILAN.

Your responsibilities: 

-Manage the entire product development process, roadmap, and timelines

-Design and manage the critical path for design and development and ensure deadlines are met according to the deliverables

-Plan and deliver seasonal collections

-Following the development of high complexity styles within the Knitwear and Jersey ranges from initial design allocation through to production sign off.

-Work closely with the commercial & design team to produce the option planning and seasonal buying strategy to further develop business performance

-Liaise with Design to address fit issues with creative problem-solving while ensuring cost, quality, and lead times are maintained. Building a strong relationship with the design, atelier and production teams, acting as their main point of contact throughout the development lifecycle.

-Analyse systems to optimize logistics, operations, and timelines across all raw materials and finished goods and the respective delivery regions

-Monitor supplier invoicing and ensuring that there is a smooth supplier cash flow

-Experience with suppliers and good knowledge of their ways of working/timings.

-Develop relationships with new and current suppliers

-Proactively improve supply chain timelines

-Working alongside finance and sales to optimize margins alongside projections

-Responsible for vetting new factories and manufacturing partners

-Responsible for the pricing architecture across the business to ensure product area consistency.

-Plan and oversee costing during sample to ensure developments meet target pricing while balancing commercial awareness and creativity.

-Manage risk and raise issues to the team so that solutions can we found in a good time

-Work closely with E-commerce and DTC teams to manage OTB

-Manage seasonal calendar

-Manage the Production and Design team

Essential Skills

  • At least 8 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong costing and negotiation skills
  • Strong knowledge of yarning and triming technics
  • Strong relationship with suppliers
  • Good understanding of luxury finishings
  • Highly organised, working well independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and coordinate diverse activities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills
